reboot of The Boondocks is no longer happening at HBO Max. As Deadline reported, Aaron McGruder’s animated comedy will not be returning despite receiving a two season order from HBO in 2019. The show was originally set to return with a 50-minute special back in fall 2020, but that never materialized. Sony is reportedly in the process of figuring out other options for more Boondocks, which originally aired for four seasons on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming block.
